The musical opens with Adu, a spiritlike Hyperbeing,
of a world of Hyperbeings, contemplating two other worlds:
--a world of Earth and humans; and
--an alternate-dimensioned non-Earth world
over which she has much control, but little idea how to exercise her influence,
if indeed to do so at all.
Also introduced are:
--Monet, a human child, on Earth;
--Stefan, a child in the non-Earth world, whose
brother is a high-level but currently unaccounted-for
explorer.
The story unfolds with grown-up Monet unexpectedly
leaving a lucrative business career, and then mysteriously disappearing,
leaving behind politically-high-powered neighbors (John and Abby), Stefan
(now on Earth as a professor), Stefan's brother (also now on Earth as
an unaging, millenia-old wanderer, currently rock star Lancien), Monet's
fiance (Tyler), and Monet's junior colleague (Ellexis).
